Brisbane after midnight is not as dead as locals say. But it is also not as alive as Google Maps pretends.
Half the “open 24 hours” search results are servos, drive-thrus, or kitchens that closed at 9:30 and forgot to update the listing.
So we did the work. Eight Reddit r/brisbane threads cross-referenced against Urban List, Concrete Playground, and each venue’s official site. Here is what actually stays open.
Four that actually open 24 hours
No asterisks. No drive-thru padding. Real kitchens, real food.
1. Pancake Manor
● 18 Charlotte Street, Brisbane City · 24 hours, daily · Get directions
Inside a converted 1879 Presbyterian church. Brisbane institution since 1979. Reddit consensus on r/brisbane: “the only true 24-hour joint in the city.” 7,700 reviews, still rated 4.3.
Order. The pancake stack, the namesake, or the buttermilk fried chicken with maple syrup if you want a proper plate at 3am.
2. H Cafe & Bar Portside
● Portside Wharf, Hamilton · 24 hours, daily · Get directions
Riverside location, 4.3 rating across 899 reviews. The one good 24-hour option on the river end of town.
Order. Proper pho, banh mi, or the late breakfast they keep going through the night. Real Vietnamese kitchen, not a snack window.
3. Bombay Dhaba 24/7
● Upper Mt Gravatt · 24 hours, daily
Southside go-to for a sit-down Indian at 2am. 4.1 rating, 3,598 reviews. The 24/7 part is in the name and they mean it.
Order. Butter chicken, dal makhani, garlic naan. Real meals, not late-night snack scale.
4. Death Before Decaf
● 86 Merthyr Road, New Farm · 24 hours, coffee only, no kitchen · Get directions
The only true 24-hour coffee in Brisbane that is not a servo. 4.7 rating, 1,526 reviews. Reddit: “still 24/7, lovely staff, even at 2am drive into New Farm.” Built for hospo workers and gig nights.
Order. Espresso, batch brew, anything that wakes you up.
Four more that locals genuinely use past midnight
Not on any best-of list. Spots locals use after the kitchen is supposed to be closed.
5. Sulzip
● City, Elizabeth Street · Mon to Fri 3pm to 1:30am · Sat to Sun 4pm to 1:30am
Korean expats’ open secret. Reddit r/brisbane: “Sulzip is one of my favourites. 1.30am daily!”
Order. Spicy soft tofu (sundubu jjigae), fried chicken, kimchi pancake. It is Korean drinking food, sool jip literally means “alcohol house,” so go with people who can drink.
6. Chicken of Rock
● 358 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley · Mon to Wed 5pm to 1am · Thu 5pm to 2:30am · Fri to Sat 5pm to 3:30am · Sun 5pm to 2:30am · Get directions
The Valley’s 3am crew end point. Reddit: “Chicken of Rock if it is late and you have had enough to drink.” Open later than almost anything else in town.
Order. Boneless garlic honey soy chicken, Korean BBQ buldak, kimchi bacon loaded fries.
7. Haidilao Q+A
● Brisbane City · Open to around midnight, check live before going
The late group-dinner option when someone booked too late. Famous global Sichuan hotpot chain. The Q+A branch hours can shift, the Sunnybank branch is confirmed to 1am if Q+A is already winding down.
Order. Sichuan hotpot in either spice level, hand-pulled noodles, signature broth combos.
8. KushiMaru
● Brisbane City · Open to around 1am, kitchen may close earlier
CBD’s late skewer and ramen play. Kitchen closes before the venue does, so order before midnight if you want food.
Order. Japanese skewers (kushi), late-night ramen, plus small plates that hold up after midnight.
Honourable mentions
Not restaurants, but locals genuinely use them late.
Coco’s Annerley
● 310 Ipswich Road, Annerley · 24 hours · Get directions
Not a restaurant, an independent 24-hour IGA. But it is the southside hero for anything you need at 3am, from a real loaf of bread to a proper hot snack. Reddit r/brisbane: “Coco’s going 24/7 was the greatest gift” with 172 upvotes.
Mourning Roast
● 7-11 Mooney Street, Stones Corner · Daily 4am to 11pm · Get directions
Cafe that opens at 4am, specifically for shift workers. Google rating 4.9. Reddit: “the best coffee you will have, opens specifically for shift workers.” Loved by PA Hospital night staff. Not late-night in the staying-up sense, late-night in the just-finished-a-12-hour-shift sense.
How we built this list
Eight Reddit r/brisbane threads on late-night spots, 24/7 venues, and Mourning Roast specifically. Cross-referenced against Urban List, Concrete Playground, and Visit Brisbane’s official guides. Each venue checked against its own website and Google Business listing. Hours verified May 2026.
We do not add places we have not verified. If you spot anything out of date, reply or DM.
Know a real one we missed?
Not a 9:30 last order. Not technically open. A real spot locals still use when the kitchen is supposed to be closed.
We will verify before we add.
