Cold foam is everywhere now. So is the iced flat white. So is whatever combination of milk and ice and one trending flavour your nearest cafe is putting out this week.
This list is not that list.
These are five drinks that only exist where they pour them. Order any of them anywhere else and good luck. One sits an hour south of the river and we still drove for it. The other four are already in town if you know the right four addresses.
No padding. No sponsored slots. No cafes we have not been to.
1. Iced Vovo Cold Foam at Mellogrounds
Their rotating cold foam drop. Iced vovo today, maple sea salt last week, gone tomorrow.

Mello Grounds in Cleveland runs a rotating cold foam program on top of their “Over Ice” range. The base sits between cold brew, iced matcha, and iced coco clouds. The topper changes week to week.
Right now the topper is iced vovo. Last week it was maple sea salt. A week or two before that it was something else again.
This means two things. One, you cannot reorder it next month and expect the same drink. Two, if you screenshot the photo and walk into another cafe asking for an iced vovo cold foam, they will not know what you are talking about.
Order. Ask which cold foam is on today, then choose your base. Iced matcha plus iced vovo cold foam is the photo you saw. Heads up, rotation is the point, so check the @mellogrounds story before you drive out.
2. Negative 86 Dirty at Musk Cafe and Bar
Hot ristretto poured over ultra-cold milk. Layers. Do not stir.

A hot ristretto poured slowly over ultra-cold milk. The temperature gap is the entire experience. The milk does not warm up. The espresso does not cool down. The two sit in layers, and you drink it without stirring.
The card on the tray literally says do not stir. The layers are the experience.
We covered this one in a reel back in April. Yes, this is the one you already saw. We are including it again because the carousel format would have been dishonest without it. You cannot put together a list of Brisbane coffees nobody else pours and leave this off.
Order. The Negative 86 Dirty, served on the wooden tray with the brownie and the cup of espresso intact.
3. Tiramisu Iced Latte at LOAF
Iced latte crowned with a slice of Chef Frankie's tiramisu. Worth the drive.

An iced latte with a thick slice of tiramisu sat directly on top. Mascarpone, cocoa, soaked savoiardi, the whole thing. You eat the tiramisu with a spoon. You drink the latte underneath while you do it.
The tiramisu is a collaboration with Chef Frankie in Currumbin. LOAF only puts this drink up on weekends.
This is the one that lives an hour south of Brisbane. We drove. It earned the drive.
Order. Tiramisu Iced Latte. Saturday or Sunday morning. Arrive before the surf and coffee queue lands. Heads up, weekday visits get acai bowls and a normal iced latte, not this drink, so do not be the person who drove to Palmy on a Tuesday expecting it.
4. Banana Bread Cold Foam at Single O
Sweetened cold brew, house banana espresso, toasted banana bread crumb on top.

A Single O classic, reimagined for Newstead. Sweetened single origin cold brew, house banana espresso, plant-based cold foam, toasted banana bread crumb on top.
If you have only had Single O as a takeaway flat white, this is a different machine. The banana bread crumb sits on the foam, the cold brew sits underneath, and the whole drink eats like banana bread and tastes like coffee. Both, fully.
The Newstead cafe is also where you can sit down and order a coffee flight if you want to see what the rest of the menu does.
Order. Banana Bread Cold Foam, iced. Add a coffee flight if you have an extra forty minutes.
5. Iced Ube Biscoff Latte at Beurre Pastries

Beurre rotates seasonal drinks aggressively. This one disappeared, came back, disappeared again. As of mid-April Beurre posted that it is back for the foreseeable future. We are not promising it will be on the menu six months from now, but as of writing it is pouring.
Order. Iced Ube Biscoff Latte. Pair with whichever morning bun is on that day. Heads up, Beurre opens at 7:30am and closes at 1:30pm, so there is no afternoon visit.
Why we made this list
Most “best coffee in Brisbane” lists give you ten flat whites at ten different cafes. The drinks blur. The cafes blur. Two months later nobody can remember which list said what.
This list is the opposite. Five drinks. Five cafes. Each one only pours their own version. Each one rewards the drive, the wait, or the rotation chase.
If you screenshot one and order it at a different cafe, the barista will look at you like you are insane. That is the point.
How we built this list
Each cafe verified directly against its own Instagram and current website. Hours, addresses, and menu names cross-referenced against The Weekend Edition, Urban List, Inside Gold Coast, and the cafe's own posts dated within the last sixty days.
We do not add places we have not been to. We do not include drinks we have not ordered. If a menu rotates off, we will mark it on this page.
